Founded in 1996. Still answering our own phone.

The story of a New Jersey freight forwarder that built its name on the shipments nobody else wanted to touch.

Our story

Thirty years of cargo with a story.

United American Line opened its doors in 1996, in the working heart of New Jersey's port country. The model was simple and it hasn't changed: know the cargo, know the route, know the client — and never hand a shipment to a system when it deserves a person.

Three decades later, UAL forwards freight worldwide, and owns both ends of one lane outright: offices in Parlin, New Jersey and Karachi, Pakistan. The book of work has grown from containers to the kind of cargo that makes dockworkers stop and watch: aircraft, yachts, earthmovers, entire factory floors in crates. What hasn't changed is who handles it. The team that quotes your shipment is the team that moves it.

Our principles

Three things we refuse to compromise.

01

Commitment.

A delivery date from UAL is a promise, not an estimate. When the ocean has other plans, you hear it from us first — with the new date and the reason.

02

Excellence.

Every lashing plan checked twice. Every document filed before it's due. Excellence in freight isn't glamorous; it's a thousand small things done right, every time.

03

Partnership.

We treat your freight budget like our own money and your deadlines like our own reputation. We'd rather keep a client for twenty years than win a shipment once.

Security & trust

Vetted by U.S. Customs. Trusted at the border.

CTPAT — the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism — is U.S. Customs and Border Protection's highest trust program for the trade community. Membership isn't bought; it's earned through audited security practices across our facilities, our processes, and our partners.

What CTPAT means for your cargo

  • Vetted supply-chain security — practices audited and approved by the U.S. government itself.
  • Fewer customs exams — trusted-partner shipments face fewer examinations at the border.
  • Faster clearance — documentation prepared in advance, so your cargo is cleared on paper before it's cleared on the water.

Both offices run on the same systems, the same standards, and the same phone number for you: +1 732-727-1700. On the US–South Asia lane, your cargo is met by UAL staff at both ends — not a correspondent agent you've never spoken to.

Thirty years in, we still love the hard ones.

Bring us the shipment you've been told is too big, too delicate, or too complicated.
